Irritable bowel syndrome is a functional bowel disorder characterized by an abdominal discomfort or pain that occurs isolated or accompanied by changes in bowel habits (constipation or diarrhea). Other current symptoms are: bloating, mucus in stool and the feeling of incomplete defecation.
